Evaluation Purpose:
The evaluation aims to determine the effectiveness of the pilot programme and to capture lessons learnt and identify ways for programme improvement.
Background:
Brick by Brick was developed by a SWiS at Redoubt North School to help children and caregivers reconnect. Using Lego™ and guided activities, the home-based programme supports emotional bonding through shared learning and play, fostering stronger relationships.
Key Findings:
The evaluation utilised qualitative data collection , specifically semistructured one-on-one interviews with the caregivers using visual aids.
The evaluation found Brick by Brick helped families strengthen relationships. Children showed improved confidence and emotional expression, while caregivers dedicated more quality time. The programme supports communication and bonding through shared play.
