Representative for Pacific Island Synod

Margie joined the Board on 26 April 2006 as an Independent Trustee.

In June 2011 Margie was appointed as the representative for the Pacific Island Synod.

Margie has and currently works in the public sector.

Her experience has been in roles that span social policy, health funding and delivery environments.

Margie’s career has spanned twenty years in the public sector in Wellington and Auckland, including five years as Deputy Director General in the Ministry of Health.  She is currently Director of Strategic Development at Counties Manukau DHB.

She is a Trustee of a number of NGOs that develop leadership in Pacific communities and child development.

Margie is married to Riki Apa with whom she has two children: Sapati Hanalei and Hinauri Letaulau. Margie is an active member of the Pacific Island Presbyterian Churches and currently attends Otara Pacific Islanders Church.
