Representative for Kaimai Presbytery (Bay of Plenty)

Chris was inducted to the Board in June 2011 as one of the representatives for the Kaimai Presbytery.

Chris and his wife Louise emigrated from South Africa to New Zealand, Whakatane, in response to a call from the Whakatane Presbyterian Parish in August 2009.

Chris has obtained three Ministerial/Theological qualifications over a period of time.  He had just completed a Masters degree and had submitted his dissertation for marking with the UKZN before moving to NZ.

Chris had been serving a United Congregational Parish as senior Minister for thirteen years in Durban before coming to NZ.  He served the KwaZulu-Natal Regional Council (Presbytery) as an Officer, which included the oversight of all theological students at the House of Formation, linked to the Theological Faculty of the UKZN, supervising the Intern’s (probationers) two year programme.  He was responsible for the regional finances and overseeing the Regional Admin Office.  He also served the SA Synod as an officer and as the National Treasurer.

Chris was the Founder Headmaster of an independent combined school for twenty years.  He and his wife see coming to New Zealand as a new beginning and their vision is to make a difference where they are.
